Moana Surfrider Resort & Spa: 5 Reasons To Stay (Oahu, Hawaii)
The Moana Surfrider is in the center of Waikiki surrounded by numerous retailers and restaurants. Everything in Waikiki is pretty much in walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is also beach front– all you need to do is step outside to the back and you’re on the beach. If you opt for an ocean view room you’ll get an incredible view of the beautiful ocean as well as Diamondhead which is breathtaking. Don’t forget to enjoy the gorgeous Waikiki sunset from the beach.
2. The Aloha Spirit
Everyone from the valet gentlemen to the restaurant servers, EVERYONE is very nice and welcoming. When we first arrived at the hotel we were warmly welcomed with a beautiful lei greeting. We honestly didn’t expect much but the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and at home. The gentleman helping us at the front desk was very helpful in providing information on what our resort fees included and all the activities we would be able to take part in at the hotel. When we got to the room, we were surprised to find a cute embroidered robe just for Rylie. It was the sweetest and most thoughtful gift!
3. Tea Time at the Veranda
This was such a beautiful and delicious experience for both myself and my husband. If you’ve never eaten at the Veranda, you must! The tea selection was very Hawaii appropriate and I loved being able to smell the tea leaves before making a choice. We went with the mango melt. The tea stand did not just serve as eye candy but each bite of the sandwiches and cakes were mouthwateringly good. My husband and I also shared the waygu cheeseburger from their lunch menu and by the time we finished it, we had regretted sharing it! You also can NOT beat the beautiful ocean view. Tea time is available daily from 12 pm to 3 pm
Known as the “First Lady of Waikiki”, The Moana Surfrider serves as a lovely part of Hawaii’s history. It is the oldest hotel in Waikiki but you won’t ever see signs of old age as she has been well kept with renovations and modern upgrades. I absolutely love the charming old school vibes with the wooden rocking chairs located at both the front and back of the hotel. Before staying as guests, on previous visits to Oahu, my husband and I would grab dessert and sit on these rocking chairs and enjoy the cool Oahu breeze during sunset. Make sure to check out the 2nd floor museum!
5. Club Lounge
If you have access to the club lounge you’re in luck for plenty of complimentary bottled water, breakfast and snacks. They also have beer & wine during cocktail hour which pairs beautifully with the Waikiki ocean view sunset. What we love most about the club lounge is the easy access. For breakfast they have a wide assortment of breakfast foods that are both adult and kid-friendly from bagels and toasts to eggs and cereal. It’s one less thing to worry about in the morning with a kid b/c nobody likes a hangry kid or a hangry pregnant woman for that matter.
simplyxclassic was a welcomed guest at the Moana Surfrider Resort & Spa. As always, my opinions are my own.
