Done Yours Yet? | If not, you still have the weekend. A quirk in the calendar, involving a District of Columbia holiday, gives Americans until April 18 to postmark their income tax returns. (Photo: Justin Sullivan, Getty Images) New Nintendo Console Debuting At E3 This June, Launching In 2012, More Powerful Than Xbox 360 and PS3 Nintendo’s next console will debut at E3 in June, moving the maker of Mario and Zelda into the HD era. The news, first reported by Game Informer today, confirms rumors that have been swirling for months in the wake of slowing game releases from Nintendo. Furthermore, we’ve heard that the machine will be more powerful than current-gen systems, meaning Nintendo, currently backing a Wii that is weaker in horsepower than the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, will be showing a new console that is more powerful than those current competitors. One Illuminating Hour Playing Street Fighter X Tekken I recently had an opportunity to play Street Fighter X Tekken, the next big fighting game from Capcom. There was one problem with this opportunity: I stink at fighting games. If I played for one hour, I hoped, maybe I could improve and understand the game. Maybe I could take you, who is probably better at fighting games than I am, along for the ride. So I played the game for 60 minutes, and sort of live-blogged it. More »
Kinect for Netflix is a Catastrophe. Microsoft Has No Idea What to Do with Kinect “Let’s find out how long it takes to select and watch our favorite Netflix movie using Kinect instead of the Xbox 360 controller!” That was the simple metric we wanted to try to test the new Kinect support in the Xbox version of Netflix. I suspected that it’d take a little bit longer to use Kinect’s motion controls, but that it’d be worth the extra time to forgo the controller entirely. I didn’t suspect the time difference would be infinity. More »

Ah, taxes. It’s the homework that sends you to jail if you don’t do it. Every day I tune into sports radio there’s a bunch of lawyers flacking tax services, especially for those who owe $100,000 or more to the IRS. I had no idea sports fans were such deadbeats. –Owen Good
